Vasavi Public School Celebrates 11th International Day of Yoga with the Theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”

The International Day of Yoga, observed globally on 21st June, is a timeless tribute to India’s cultural heritage—celebrating a practice that nurtures harmony between the body, mind, and soul. In its 11th year of observance, Vasavi Public School proudly embraced the inspiring theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” reflecting its commitment not only to individual wellness but also to environmental consciousness and global unity.

The campus buzzed with energy as students, teachers, and parents came together to celebrate the day with enthusiasm and joy. The event embodied the true essence of yoga—unity, mindfulness, and holistic health.

The celebration was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Kaveti Srinivas Rao, founder of Sri Yoga and a Guinness World Record holder, Guest speaker Ms. Jaishree Rao, and Principal Mr. G. Srinivas Reddy. Their presence lent the event an atmosphere of inspiration and spiritual depth.

The morning began with a vibrant mass yoga session for students of Classes VI to X, led by the school’s skilled yoga instructor, Mr. Rajashekhar Reddy. With focus and discipline, the students performed Surya Namaskaras—a graceful salute to the sun that symbolizes health, vitality, and inner strength.

A highlight of the program was a captivating yoga demonstration led by Mr. Srinivas Rao. Teachers and parents actively participated, translating the event’s theme into a living experience. The collective spirit and harmony resonated across the school grounds, echoing the age-old message of yoga: unity in diversity.

In his address, Mr. Rao enlightened the audience about the multifaceted benefits of yoga, describing it as a transformative path to physical vitality, mental clarity, and emotional resilience. He shared insights from his own journey as a yogi and encouraged all present to embrace Yoga Day not merely as an annual observance, but as a global festival of wellness.

Adding to the spirit of the event, Ms. Jaishree Rao delivered an empowering talk on conscious breathing and mindful living, encouraging families to integrate yoga into their daily routines. Her words served as a powerful reminder that self-awareness is the first step towards inner peace and social harmony.

Both the Chief Guest and Guest Speaker were felicitated by the Principal, who expressed gratitude for their valuable presence and guidance.

The celebration concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Head Girl Nidhi Gupta, who acknowledged the efforts of the entire school community—students, teachers, guests, and parents—in making the day truly memorable.

As the event drew to a close, what lingered was a strong reminder of yoga’s ability to heal not only individuals but the world at large. Through its deeply rooted philosophy of balance and oneness, yoga continues to be a beacon of hope for a more peaceful, sustainable, and healthier planet.
