Students from Vasavi Public School had the opportunity to visit the Arun Ice-creams manufacturing unit in Zaheerabad, Telangana, as part of an educational field trip. This unit is one of the products of Hatsun Agro Products, a leading name in the dairy industry.

The visit aimed to provide students with a firsthand experience of the ice cream production process and to learn about the various aspects of manufacturing and sustainability. The Arun Ice-creams manufacturing unit, recognized as the largest ice cream manufacturing facility in India, produces 100 tons of ice cream per day and 7 tons of chocolate per day.

During the visit, students were given a guided tour of the facility, where they observed the different stages of ice cream production, from raw material processing to packaging. They also learned about the importance of maintaining quality and hygiene standards in the production process.
One of the highlights of the trip was the interactive session with the facility’s experts, who explained the various sustainability practices implemented at the facility, including rainwater harvesting systems, water treatment and recycling, and solar-powered energy.

The field trip was not only educational but also fun for the students, as they participated in activities designed to inspire curiosity and awareness about the world of ice cream production. The visit concluded with a tasting session, where students enjoyed a variety of delicious ice cream flavors produced at the facility.

Speaking about the trip, the Principal G Srinivas Reddy said, “This field trip provided our students with a unique learning experience that goes beyond the classroom. It allowed them to see the practical applications of their studies and understand the importance of innovation and sustainability in the manufacturing industry.”

The students returned from the trip with a deeper appreciation for the efforts that go into producing their favorite ice cream and a greater understanding of the importance of sustainable practices in the industry.
