Telangana Telugu Day Celebrated with Great Zeal at Vasavi Public School

Vasavi Public School, Himayatnagar, reverberated with the spirit of Telugu pride as it celebrated Telangana Telugu Day on September 9 with grandeur and heartfelt devotion to the mother tongue.

The celebration commenced with a melodious rendition of Vandemataram, setting a patriotic tone for the day. This was followed by the Pratigna (pledge) and an inspiring Neti Sukti, reflecting the richness of Telugu wisdom and values.

Principal Mr. Srinivas Reddy  was warmly welcomed and invited to light the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the illumination of tradition and knowledge. Floral tributes were offered to Praja Kavi Kaloji Narayana Rao Garu, whose birth anniversary is commemorated as Telangana Telugu Day, honouring his enduring contributions to literature, activism, and the Telugu identity. A devotional note was added with the Ganapathi Thaalam (Prarthana Geetham), invoking blessings for the occasion.

The programme featured a series of language-enrichment activities and an informative speech on Kaloji’s life and legacy. The spiritual ambience deepened with the recitation of Bhagavad Geetha shlokas, reinforcing the philosophical depth of the language.

A vibrant cultural showcase followed, highlighting the students’ talents and reverence for tradition. A soulful Deshabhakthi Geetham and moral poems added emotional resonance, while a powerful Burrakatha dramatized the ideals of Kaloji Narayana Rao, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.  Janapada Geya dance enthralled everyone and the humorous skit Paramandhayya Shishyulu brought laughter and delight. The traditional Sodhi was performed with finesse, earning enthusiastic applause.

In his address, Principal Mr. Srinivas Reddy  lauded the Telugu Department staff and students for their dedicated efforts in curating such a culturally rich and meaningful event. He emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the Telugu language and traditions, especially among the younger generation.
