Success of Chandraayan 3
After almost four years of failure of Chandrayaan 2, Chandrayaan 3 was launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota on July 14th 2023 at 2:35pm, making it India’s third lunar mission. It consists of three main components – a propulsion module, lander –vikram, rover-prayan. It landed on the moon successfully on 23rd August, 18:30 IST.
On 22th July 2019, ISRO launched Chandrayaan 2 on board a LVM3 launch vehicle consisting of an orbiter, a lander and a rover. The lander lost contact with mission control, deviated from its intended trajectory while attempting to land and crashed.
Failure is an important key to success. It allows us to innovate and fuels our motivation. The failure of Chandrayaan 2 teaches us what doesn’t work. It helped them grow and succeed on their next mission- Chandrayaan 3.
